Spider-Noir Cancelled After One Season on Prime Video

Prime Video has cancelled Spider-Noir after one season, despite the series receiving 11 Emmy nominations and critical acclaim. The decision marks the end of the live-action noir superhero adaptation starring Nicolas Cage, though the streamer intends to continue its partnership with Sony's Marvel characters through new projects.

According to Deadline, Prime Video is exploring multiple new projects using different characters from Sony's Marvel roster, with at least one reportedly nearing a series order. Specific details about these upcoming projects have not been disclosed.

Cage, who led the series as the titular web-slinging hero in a 1930s New York setting, responded to the cancellation with a statement to Deadline: "For me, one season is perfect, having said what I wanted to say with this dangerous, innovative, pop-art Spider-Man. Onwards, upwards, inwards."

Spider-Noir debuted on Prime Video in late May and offered viewers both black-and-white and colour viewing options. The series featured noir reimaginings of classic Spider-Man villains alongside Cage's darkly stylized take on the character.
