Another High-Profile PlayStation Account Hacked as Security Concerns Persist

Prominent PlayStation community member RealRadec revealed on October 3, 2026 that his PlayStation Network account had been compromised. The account holder, who has more than 30,000 followers on X, described multiple failed attempts to regain control through password changes, device sign-outs, and two-factor authentication re-enrollment.

The incident follows a similar breach earlier in 2026 affecting podcaster Colin Moriarty, host of Sacred Symbols. That case drew widespread attention after Moriarty used industry connections to recover his account. Push Square reports that the underlying vulnerability remains unaddressed.

According to the investigation, PlayStation Network accounts can be hijacked using only an associated email address, a transaction ID, or a purchase date. Some of this information is publicly available or can be inferred, making the attack vector accessible to bad actors.

The stakes have risen significantly as PlayStation pushes toward an all-digital future. Modern PSN accounts often hold thousands of dollars in game purchases alongside irreplaceable trophy histories and gaming memories. This contrasts sharply with the PlayStation 3 era when digital libraries were smaller and trophies were new.

Community frustration is mounting because the same exploit appears effective months after the Moriarty incident. Many expected Sony to have tightened security following that public breach. The recurrence has left players anxious about the safety of their digital investments.

RealRadec's case underscores that high-profile status offers no protection. The vulnerability affects any account where basic transaction data can be obtained. Until Sony implements stronger verification measures, the community remains exposed to account takeovers that can erase years of digital history in minutes.
