Sony Trademarks New Sly Cooper Merchandise, But No Game Announced
A newly filed trademark from Sony reveals upcoming Sly Cooper merchandise, though fans awaiting a series revival will not find any games included.

Sony has filed a new trademark for the Sly Cooper franchise, but the application focuses exclusively on merchandise rather than a new video game or media adaptation. According to a post by Stephen Totilo on Substack, the application was filed on September 11, 2026. Fans of the beloved franchise have long awaited a revival by developers Sucker Punch, but no concrete details or official announcements regarding a new title have been revealed.
The trademark covers a wide range of physical items. Included in the filing are printed posters, graphic novels, comic books, writing instruments, adhesives, drawing instruments, pens, crayons, paper folders, paint brushes, modeling clay, silicone food storage boxes, table napkins, and party decorations. Because the trademark is limited strictly to these physical products, players hoping for a hint of a new game must continue to wait.
The franchise has been dormant for years. The last entry in the series was Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time, which launched in 2013 for the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita. That title was developed by Sanzaru Games because Sucker Punch shifted its focus to the InFamous series. Sucker Punch developed the franchise up through Sly 3: Honor Among Thieves, which was released in 2005 for the PlayStation 2.
