Official Lego PlayStation Set Revealed With 1,911 Pieces and October Release

Sony and Lego have officially announced a PlayStation-themed building set, confirming what had been rumoured and then briefly leaked before the PlayStation stream. According to Gamereactor UK, the set consists of 1,911 pieces and carries a release date of October 1.

The Lego designer who led the project told Gamereactor that the collaboration was demanding because Sony was very particular about the dimensions. Getting the controller accurate proved a particular challenge, with the designer working to match the iconic look and proportions of the original hardware as closely as the brick format allows.

Video Games Chronicle notes the set is priced at $180 and describes it as long-rumoured before the formal reveal, with a sighting in a Lego store preceding today's announcement. Gamereactor's coverage also shares official images and a video showcasing the finished build.

Reaction among PlayStation viewers was mixed.
