Marvel's Spider-Man Actor Yuri Lowenthal Advocates for Deadpool in Next Game

Marvel's Spider-Man voice actor Yuri Lowenthal has revealed his preference for which character should appear in the next installment of Insomniac's Spider-Man franchise. During an interview with The Movie Dweeb, Lowenthal was asked about the possibility of a Spider-Man and Wolverine crossover in an upcoming game. While acknowledging that such a crossover would be exciting, Lowenthal expressed a stronger preference for another character.

"While the Spider-Man and Wolverine crossover would be terribly exciting, there is one character that I would opt for even more strongly than Wolverine, and it would be Deadpool," Lowenthal stated. He added that he has actively advocated for the character during meetings with Insomniac creative director Brian Horton, pushing for Deadpool's inclusion each time they interact.

Lowenthal joked about potentially spoiling a character appearance, remarking that if Deadpool does appear in Spider-Man 3, he would like to believe the idea originated from his own advocacy. The chemistry between Spider-Man and Deadpool in Marvel comics provides narrative potential, and Insomniac's track record with character appearances supports the possibility. The Spider-Man games have featured various cameos from the wider Marvel universe, including Taskmaster in the first game and Black Cat in the sequel.

The comments come as Insomniac Games shifts its focus toward Marvel's Wolverine, with that title arriving later in the month. Lowenthal's remarks highlight ongoing speculation about which characters may be featured in future Spider-Man projects within Insomniac's expanding Marvel game universe.
