The Roblox 2026 Developers Conference in San Jose, California, experienced an unexpected interruption when a Roblox YouTuber rushed the stage during CEO David Baszucki's opening address. The content creator, known online as Mathieo, took to the platform shouting, "We deserve better, don't we deserve better," while displaying a shirt that read "Kids deserve better." Security quickly tackled him and escorted him out of the venue.

Baszucki responded to the incident on stage by remarking that people can get excited when the event takes place. Footage of the interruption quickly circulated on social media, prompting Mathieo to post online that he had been ejected from the conference. He later published a YouTube video detailing his motivation for the protest, stating that his concerns focused on artificial intelligence implementation, face design changes, and child safety measures on the platform.

Child safety on the platform has faced criticism and external scrutiny for several years. The United States Senate is currently investigating the platform, and European Union legislation aims to mandate better protection for minors. Mathieo stated in his follow-up video that past attempts to communicate issues to the corporation have been ineffective, arguing that slow progress continues to affect children. Roblox Corporation has been approached for comment regarding the incident.
