VR Action RPG Knights of Fiona Releases September 3 for Steam and Meta Quest

Developer CharacterBank has officially announced the global release date for its upcoming virtual reality action RPG, Knights of Fiona. The game is scheduled to launch simultaneously on Steam VR, Meta Quest 3, and Meta Quest 3S on September 3, 2026, in the West, and September 4, 2026, in the Asia-Pacific region. Specific launch timings include 10:00 AM PDT, 1:00 PM EDT, and 5:00 PM UTC on September 3, followed by 2:00 AM JST on September 4.

Knights of Fiona will be free to download and start, featuring online cross-play multiplayer between Steam VR and Meta Quest users. Players looking to experience the complete narrative can purchase a paid Story Pass priced at $18.99 USD, which unlocks the full main story. Chapters 1 through 5 will be available at launch, while Chapter 6 is scheduled to arrive in a subsequent update later in the year. The game is set in Gallia, a land where thoughts become power, and tasks players with acting as one of Fiona's sworn knights. Combat options include sword, bow, and magic, playable either solo or in a party of up to three against enemies such as dragons and Formorian monsters.

According to director HOI, the new title builds directly on player feedback from the Kyoto studio's previous release, RUINSMAGUS, aiming to deliver greater variety in weapons, levels, NPCs, and boss battles. CEO Shuto Mikami noted that the project takes advantage of new and upcoming headsets to push VR narrative limits. The English story campaign features localization by Nob Ogasawara, with voice acting provided by Minami Tsuda in Japanese and Florence St. Leger in English. The title includes full English and Japanese voiceovers alongside Traditional and Simplified Chinese subtitles. Prior to launch, the game's development was supported by a 2026 Kickstarter and Campfire crowdfunding campaign that raised over 6 million yen from 815 backers, alongside a playable build showcased at BitSummit PUNCH in Kyoto.
