Valve Reportedly Earns £11bn From Steam in 2026 as Forza Horizon 6 Emerges as Top New Release
New analysis indicates Steam has generated $15bn (~£11.10bn) in revenue for Valve in 2026, with Forza Horizon 6 leading new game earnings.
According to new analysis from Alinea Analytics, Steam has reportedly generated $15bn (~£11.10bn) in revenue for Valve from game, downloadable content, and software sales.
Among new arrivals on the PC storefront, the open-world racing game Forza Horizon 6 stands out as the biggest revenue-generating new game release, bringing in an estimated $210.5m (~£155.74m) in revenue for Valve. Following closely behind is Crimson Desert, which generated $203.3m (~£150.42m) in revenue. Rounding out the top three is Resident Evil Requiem, contributing $200.9m (~£148.64m) to Valve's earnings.
Alinea analyst Rhys Elliott noted that the top six highest-grossing new releases on Steam account for $1bn (~£735.8m)—representing 6.6 percent—of the platform's overall $15bn revenue. Among those top six titles, Crimson Desert and Meccha Chameleon originate from new intellectual properties. Expanding the scope to the top 100 highest-grossing new releases accounts for $2.4bn (~£1.78bn), or 15.9 percent of the store's total revenue so far.
Additional major releases noted in the market include Onimusha: Way of the Sword and The Blood of Dawnwalker, alongside highly-anticipated titles scheduled for later in the year such as Gears of War: E-Day, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, and Phantom Blade Zero.
