The Apothecary Diaries Getting Debut Console Game on PS5 in Early 2027

Publisher Koei Tecmo and developer Gust have announced a debut console game based on the popular historical detective light novel series, The Apothecary Diaries. Titled The Apothecary Diaries: The False Imperial Brother, the upcoming title is currently scheduled to launch on the PlayStation 5 in early 2027.

The game's story scenario is written by the original author, Hyuganatsu. Players will step into the shoes of the fake-freckled heroine Maomao, who serves within the Imperial Palace. The gameplay will see players investigating rumors of five unexplained mysteries, alongside brewing medicines and searching for clues. Familiar characters, including the eunuch Jinshi, are confirmed to return for the adventure. The project matches developer Gust's long-standing expertise in potion-crafting titles over the decades.
