Publisher Awaken Realms and developer Questline have released a major update for Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon today with the free Fists of Fury DLC and patch 1.3.0. The update adds unarmed combat as a complete, viable build option for players who want to punch their way through Avalon rather than rely on weapons.

The Fists of Fury DLC introduces a new questline centered on a mysterious hermit teacher in the Horns of the South who has mastered unarmed combat and will train players in his discipline if they impress him. The DLC adds a dedicated fistfighting weapon category that allows attacks with these items to count as unarmed attacks, ensuring that all unarmed bonuses from gear and talents continue to apply.

Seven new fistfighting weapons are included in the DLC, each with distinct mechanics. Brawler's Gloves serve as the entry point for new players. Unburdened Hands restore full stamina on kills or successful parries. Unbroken Motion grants a stacking critical hit chance bonus for consecutive hits. Patient Grasp regenerates stamina based on physical damage dealt. Bitter Lesson, Still Touch, and Charred Discipline apply poison, chill, and burn effects respectively, with bonuses that scale when multiple enemies are affected.

New armor sets and items support the unarmed playstyle. The Hermit's Garb comes in seven variants with different scaling approaches, from consecutive-hit damage to low-health payoff. Additional pieces include arm and leg bindings that boost attack speed and provide dash economy, plus a Headband of the First Disciple for aggressive players willing to fight at critically low health. Amulets and rings offer trade-offs between raw damage, critical chance, defensive benefits, and movement bonuses.

A new skill tree under the Strength category provides unarmed-specific perks. Key options include Weight of the Fist for double status buildup, Breaking Point and Numbing Blow for armor breaks and stuns, and an enhanced dash package that increases invincibility frames and provides unarmed damage bonuses. Patient Hand widens the parry window while unarmed, allowing players to parry with bare hands.

Patch 1.3.0 brings another round of performance and stability improvements across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. The update introduces two Steam Deck-specific graphics presets for Quality and Performance modes, tailored to the handheld's capabilities.

Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon now supports Xbox Play Anywhere, allowing saves and achievements to carry over between Xbox and PC versions. Players who already own the game on Xbox can access all new content on PC at no additional cost. The game is also currently 50% off during the Steam Autumn Sale.
