A previously unknown deleted scene from The Super Mario Bros. Movie has been discovered, offering a glimpse into an alternate version of the film's ending. The scene, which comes from the climactic battle in Brooklyn, shows Mario's entire family on a balcony during the final confrontation with Bowser.

In this cut sequence, Mario's father is briefly kidnapped by a pair of Paratroopas, prompting his mother to react in alarm. Mario quickly pursues the creatures and defeats them with a swift kick, rescuing his father. The scene originally featured the song "Jump" by Van Halen, though the filmmakers ultimately opted to use "Superstars" from the game series for the final version.

The discovery comes from Xavier Zahra, a visual effects artist who worked on the project. Zahra posted a pre-visualization of the deleted scene on his website, providing fans with a detailed look at how this moment was originally conceived. The scene offers insight into the creative decisions made during production, showing how the ending evolved from initial concepts to the final theatrical release.

This discovery adds to growing interest in behind-the-scenes content from the film. Earlier this year, information also emerged regarding a deleted scene between Peach and Rosalina that was cut from The Super Mario Galaxy Movie.
