Stellar Blade Switch 2 Demo Now Available, Bayonetta Collab Announced

Stellar Blade is now playable on Nintendo Switch 2 through a new eShop demo released by developer Shift Up. The demo gives players their first hands-on look at how the action game performs on Nintendo's new hardware ahead of the full release.

Along with the demo launch, Shift Up announced a free Bayonetta collaboration coming to the Switch 2 version. The crossover includes four outfits inspired by the Bayonetta series that players can use to customize EVE, the game's protagonist. "Dress up EVE and reclaim Earth in style with four brand new couture outfits inspired by Bayonetta," Shift Up said in a trailer released today.

Stellar Blade on Switch 2 targets 60 frames per second, matching the PS5 version's performance goals. However, a graphics comparison video shows some frame rate fluctuations in the current demo build. Shift Up made several adjustments to bring the game to Switch 2, including changes to level of detail, shadows, and reflections. Water effects and other visual elements differ between the Switch 2 and PS5 versions, though the developer noted that improvements could come in the final release.

The game follows EVE, a member of the 7th Airborne Squad, as she descends from a space colony to reclaim Earth from mysterious creatures called the Naytiba. Players engage in fast-paced, stylish combat across a post-apocalyptic world filled with both beauty and horror. The story involves uncovering fragments of the past and confronting hidden forces that shaped humanity's fall.

Stellar Blade: Complete Edition arrives on Switch 2 on November 5, 2026. Pre-orders are now live on the eShop. The Switch 2 version includes content from previous DLC collaborations with NieR:Automata and Goddess of Victory: Nikke.
