Space Metal Mania Launches Exclusively on Amazon Luna for Prime Members

Amazon has surprise-launched Space Metal Mania exclusively on Amazon Luna, arriving outside the September lineup announced earlier this month. The rhythm-driven top-down shooter is available now at no additional cost for Prime members.

Space Metal Mania is a fast-paced space shooter with rogue-lite elements. Players fly through enemy swarms, dodge incoming fire, fight bosses, and collect credits to upgrade their ship. Three difficulty levels guide runs through Combat encounters, Elite fights, and Planet Liberation missions. Power-ups, weapons, and defensive devices unlock during play.

The heavy-metal hook drives the action directly. Enemy waves, attacks, and boss encounters synchronize to the music. Jan Pytlik, Head of Production for THQ Nordic Mobile GmbH, says enemy and boss patterns follow verses, breakdowns, and solos. The track list includes Megadeth's "Symphony of Destruction," Avenged Sevenfold's "Nightmare," Iron Maiden's "The Trooper," Mastodon's "Teardrinker," and Pantera's "Walk." Megadeth frontman Dave Mustaine voices the Commander and provides in-game dialogue and callouts.

The visual style draws from 1980s sci-fi and metal album art, featuring neon, cosmic fire, burning planets, and massive structures. Up to four players can play together in co-op sessions using a mix of phones and game controllers, or solo play is available. Space Metal Mania is available now exclusively through Amazon Luna.
