Several Major PS5 Titles Hit Gold Status Ahead of Upcoming Fall Launches

Remedy Entertainment, One More Level, and the team behind Star Wars: Galactic Racer have all announced gold status for their upcoming PlayStation 5 games, with some arriving nearly two months before release.

Although the phrase "gone gold" holds a slightly different weight in modern game development, it remains a notable milestone. Recently, three major PlayStation 5 titles announced they have officially reached this developmental stage, with some achieving the milestone nearly two months prior to their scheduled release dates.

Remedy Entertainment announced that Control Resonant has gone gold. The action RPG serves as a sequel to 2019's Control, shifting the perspective from Jesse Faden to her brother, Dylan, who commands paranatural abilities in a warped Manhattan. While the digital launch remains locked in for September 24, 2026, Remedy announced that the physical release date has been pushed back to October 15, 2026, to allow extra time for manufacturing and delivery.

Additionally, One More Level—the developers behind Ghostrunner—announced that Valor Mortis has gone gold. The first-person Souls-like RPG combines an alternative Napoleonic history with supernatural mechanics, allowing players to wield swords, sidearms, and fire-based abilities against corrupted enemies. With a physical and digital release date set for October 13, 2026, the developer has a window of nearly two months ahead of launch to polish the title and prepare potential day-one updates.

Finally, Star Wars: Galactic Racer has also officially achieved gold status. Developed by former creators of the Burnout and Need for Speed franchises, the title is a racing game set within the Star Wars universe. It features a roguelike campaign, a strong focus on narrative, and multiple vehicle types, including pod racers. Set for release on October 6, 2026, the game shares a lengthy runway to launch similar to Valor Mortis, which developers hope will pave the way for a smooth arrival.
