Resident Evil 2, 3, and 4 Run Smoothly on Switch 2
Capcom's Resident Evil Remake Trilogy ports to Nintendo Switch 2 deliver strong performance in handheld mode, with frame rates likely near 60fps and minimal load times.

Capcom's ports of Resident Evil 2, Resident Evil 3, and Resident Evil 4 have arrived on Nintendo Switch 2, continuing the publisher's track record of quality handheld conversions. A hands-on preview at Tokyo Game Show 2026 confirmed all three games run reliably on the portable hardware.
During extended play sessions in handheld mode across all three titles, the ports maintained smooth performance without noticeable frame rate drops or pop-in. Load times from the main menu to gameplay took only a few seconds. Frame rates appeared to run well above 30fps, likely fluctuating around 50-60fps depending on scene complexity. The Switch 2's vibrant display made visuals stand out during gameplay.
Both HD rumble and gyro controls feature in the ports. Gyro aiming was confirmed working in Resident Evil 4, though it may appear in the other games as well in the final release. Capcom's implementation of rumble responds to in-game actions like gunfire and enemy attacks.
This release follows Resident Evil Requiem's Switch 2 launch earlier in 2026. The Resident Evil Remake Trilogy joins a growing library of demanding titles that have successfully made the jump to Nintendo's hybrid console.
