PlayStation Commissions Custom Wolverine Claws to Celebrate Game Launch
PlayStation partnered with blacksmith Fiedlero Knives to create a functional set of Wolverine-inspired claws ahead of Marvel's Wolverine release. The metal blades proved sharp enough to slice through fresh produce.

PlayStation commissioned a custom set of Wolverine claws from blacksmith Fiedlero Knives to mark the launch of Marvel's Wolverine. The metal blades were designed to mimic the mutant's iconic signature weapons, complete with a handle that makes them appear to emerge from the wearer's hands, similar to practical props used by actor Hugh Jackman.
The claws were tested on fresh produce, demonstrating their sharpness despite not being made from the fictional indestructible adamantium. PlayStation shared the promotional project via social media.
The custom claws are not for sale. Replicas are available online in both plastic and metal versions, with Hot Toys also offering a sixth-scale collectible figure of Wolverine equipped with interchangeable claw sets.
Marvel's Wolverine launched earlier this month to mixed reception. Critics have cited restrictive level design, excessive hand-holding, and repetitive combat as concerns. Developer Insomniac Games released a patch that reduced intrusive scent trails and audio cues guiding players to collectibles. GameSpot's review concluded the game is "a fun but forgettable experience" that questions whether success with one superhero character translates to success with another.
