AMATA Games has announced that its virtual reality adaptation of Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Dual Destinies will launch on Meta Quest and Meta VR Glasses in 2027, but PSVR2 will not receive the game.

The VR version is an adaptation of the fifth main entry in Capcom's courtroom battle series, developed under license. According to the publisher, the game will let players "step into the courtroom in virtual reality and interact with suspicious witnesses and questionable evidence to prove your client's innocence."

The adaptation will include voice detection that allows players to shout "objections" as they would in a real court. Full hand-tracking and motion controls will enable players to examine evidence in 3D space. The game promises to deliver the "OBJECTION!" moment "face-to-face like never before."

The decision to skip PSVR2 marks another miss for Sony's headset platform. PSVR2 has struggled to gain traction during the PS5 generation, though players can already experience the pancake version of Dual Destinies through the Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney Trilogy available on PS4. The exclusive Meta partnership suggests the VR headset maker is actively facilitating third-party releases for its platforms.
