No Sony Characters Featured in Fortnite's Big Gaming Celebration Season

Fortnite's big gaming celebration season, titled Override, arrives this week on August 20th. However, despite previous collaborations that brought characters like Kratos and Aloy to Epic Games' battle royale title, the new season's trailer indicates there will be no Sony characters involved.

While it remains possible that past Sony icons could return to the Item Shop at some point during the event, no official word has been given. Instead, the upcoming celebration features a variety of other recognizable gaming icons. As previously rumored, Sonic the Hedgehog is included, alongside Bomberman and Persona 5's Joker. Players can also expect weapons and gameplay inspired by these characters, with SEGA's blue blur even inspiring loop-the-loops on the island. Additionally, classic franchises such as Tetris and Pac-Man will make appearances, alongside nods to Jazz Jackrabbit.

Other classic platforming icons like Crash Bandicoot and Spyro are also slated to appear, though they are currently owned by Microsoft despite their historical roots on the original PlayStation.
