Netflix and Rockstar Debut Extended Look at Grand Theft Auto VI
Rockstar Games and Netflix have debuted a 26-minute extended preview of Grand Theft Auto VI, highlighting cooperative gameplay between protagonists Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos, alongside various activities and improved graphics.
Netflix and Rockstar Games have debuted an extended look at Grand Theft Auto VI, giving players a 26-minute preview that showcases the upcoming title's updated graphics, detailed environments, and densely-packed rooms. According to the end of the video, the footage was captured on a PlayStation 5 console, keeping the spirit of exploration, driving, crimes, shooting, and cinematic story scenes alive from previous entries in the franchise.
A primary focus of the deep dive centers on how protagonists Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos work together during gameplay. One sequence features Duval hanging out of a vehicle window to shoot at pursuing police officers while Caminos drives. Another segment switches the dynamic, placing the player in control of Caminos while Duval and another character handle the shooting. The preview also details a mission where the two protagonists split up, showing Duval working as a security detail taking on enemies from cover, while Caminos sneaks around on foot to evade detection, featuring interactive button prompts during hand-to-hand struggles.
Alongside tightly-edited scenes and cinematic cutscenes, the video features brief gameplay glimpses including a weapon wheel menu and various side activities. Players can participate in driving boats, playing basketball, underwater diving, racing on tracks, and parachuting. This deep dive follows earlier apparent video leaks from a group or individual identifying as "CyberLeek," which Rockstar previously described as heartbreaking.
The extended look was made available on Rockstar's YouTube channel and the official Grand Theft Auto VI website. The game is scheduled to launch on November 19th with a starting price of $79.99, though it will not be available to purchase on a physical disc.
