GTA VI Gets Mature ESRB Rating, In-Game Purchases Confirmed
Grand Theft Auto VI has received its ESRB Mature rating with familiar content warnings including violence, strong language, and sexual content. The PlayStation Store listing also confirms the game will include in-game purchases.

Grand Theft Auto VI has received an ESRB Mature rating, matching the long-standing pattern for the franchise. The rating appeared on the PlayStation Store listing ahead of the game's November 2026 release.
The content descriptors for GTA VI align with previous entries in the series: blood and gore, intense violence, mature humor, nudity, strong language, strong sexual content, and use of drugs and alcohol. The ESRB listing also confirms the presence of in-game purchases, covering both DLC and microtransactions.
This mirrors GTA V's rating structure, which carried the same content warnings. GTA V additionally included a "Users Interact" descriptor due to the multiplayer features in GTA Online, though the official ESRB site has not yet published GTA VI's full rating summary with specific examples of these content elements.
Grand Theft Auto VI launches on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X on November 19, 2026, with pre-orders currently available.
