miHoYo plans to invest approximately 100 billion yuan, which equals about 14.7 billion dollars, into artificial intelligence for game creation. Liu Wei, the head of the studio, announced the funding details at a private artificial intelligence event held in Beijing.

The studio will allocate the funds in stages over the next three-year period. Ultimately, the creators aim to establish a complete internal artificial intelligence ecosystem featuring GPU clusters, training systems, and applied solutions. These systems will play a significant role in developing new studio projects, including artificial intelligence applications for non-player character systems and content generation.

Liu Wei addressed the initiative with a philosophical outlook during the Beijing speech. He noted that the company is not seeking success at any cost and remains prepared for potential failure, despite preferring positive results.

“Even if nothing comes of it and we achieve no result, we’ll come to terms with it. We’ll just consider it as having organized a grand fireworks display,” Wei said.
