Genshin Impact's Vesna Sets New Standard for 5-Star Characters and Exploration

Genshin Impact's newest 5-star character Vesna has arrived in update 7.1 alongside fellow 5-star Vodyanitsa, and early assessments rank her among the game's strongest damage dealers. Vesna functions as an on-field DPS character built around the Stellar Swirl reaction introduced with the Snezhnaya region.

Her combat style shares similarities with Zibai, the Lunar Crystallize DPS from the Nod-Krai arc. Players activate her skill to enter a special stance, build resources through normal attacks, then deploy powerful elemental skills while weaving in elemental bursts for maximum damage. Reputable Genshin theorycrafters have rated Vesna among the strongest or potentially the singular best DPS character depending on team composition and build assumptions.

Beyond raw damage, Vesna's movement utility sets her apart. She flies faster and more freely than other Genshin flyers including Chasca, the Anemo flyer from Natlan. When holding a dash, Vesna unfurls her wings and can cover surprising distances while ascending before stamina depletes. Uniquely in Snezhnaya, players can swap to Vesna mid-air to instantly begin flying and regenerate a chunk of stamina.

This mobility fundamentally changes exploration. Pairing Vesna's flight with Xianyun's triple-jump creates what one experienced player described as a transformative combination. Even in regions without Vesna's mid-air swap mechanic, her flight time significantly outpaces previous exploration standouts including Wanderer, Kazuha, Yelan, Xilonen, and others. For players prioritizing exploration alongside combat effectiveness, Vesna delivers both at a level the game hasn't previously offered.
