Microsoft and Discord subpoenaed over GTA VI gameplay leaks

Take-Two Interactive has issued subpoenas to Microsoft and Discord over content that allegedly infringes copyrights held for Grand Theft Auto VI, following several apparent video leaks. The subpoenas, which were filed on a Thursday, state that the copyrighted material includes audiovisual content, artwork, images, dialogue, and other creative elements, with Take-Two looking to identify the alleged infringers at issue.

According to the filings, Microsoft and Discord have until September 4th to produce the requested information. The leaked video clips feature watermarks from a person or group identifying as “CyberLeek” and showcase what appears to be protagonist Jason Duval engaging in activities such as driving, flying an airplane, using a taser, attacking someone with a wrench, and shooting holes in a wall to spell out “LEEK.”

Neither Microsoft nor Discord immediately responded to requests for comment regarding the matter. The leaks emerged ahead of an extended preview for the game scheduled to debut on Netflix on August 27th, while the full game release is slated for November 19th.
