Mewgenics Console Physical Edition Announced for PS5 and Switch 2

Publisher Nicalis has officially announced that it will release a physical edition of Mewgenics, the upcoming turn-based tactical roguelike RPG developed by Edmund McMillen and Tyler Glaiel. According to the announcement, the physical release is slated to launch for both the PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch 2 platforms in the first quarter of 2027. Physical pre-orders are currently open for interested buyers.

This physical edition news follows closely on the heels of a digital console release reveal on September 8, 2026, which confirmed that digital versions are heading to the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch 2.

In Mewgenics, players manage, hoard, breed, and train an army of cats. These feline fighters venture forth into a chaotic world to push further, defeat challenging bosses, and acquire various mutations. Afterward, they return home to help improve subsequent bloodlines, blending tactical strategy with management simulation elements.
