Metro Redux Getting Free Next-Gen Update on October 22nd

4A Games has confirmed that Metro Redux, the remastered collection of Metro 2033 and Metro: Last Light, will receive a free next-gen upgrade. The update arrives October 22nd on PC, followed by October 29th on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.

The upgrade enhances both games' textures, lighting, shadows, animations, audio, and environmental detail. Console versions will support 4K resolution with frame rates up to 120 FPS, while PC players can expect 4K with uncapped frame rates.

The announcement arrives shortly after ESRB ratings for both games surfaced on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series platforms. 4A Games has confirmed that all existing owners of Metro Redux will receive the update at no cost.

The franchise marks a significant milestone with 50 million global sales since the original Metro debuted in 2010. This next-gen update arrives as the series prepares for the release of Metro 2039, the forthcoming entry in the post-apocalyptic franchise.
