The third-person action game arrives five years after its initial announcement, following a 2021 data theft that leaked early footage and a creative director change two years ago. Despite past tumult, the studio has delivered a linear adventure that combines familiar brawling with a romantic narrative arc between Logan and Jean Grey.

Players control James Logan Howlett, while Jean Grey appears through cutscenes and mid-combat dialogue to assist with her telekinetic abilities. The gameplay loop consists of traveling to specific locations, defeating enemies, and watching cutscenes, supplemented by chests containing currency for unlockable outfits and hidden doors.
