Genshin Impact Creator Hoyoverse Announces New Dark Fantasy Unreal Engine 5 Title Nodus Fall

Hoyoverse has announced Nodus Fall, a grim-dark cooperative RPG powered by Unreal Engine 5 that departs from the studio's traditional anime art styles.

Genshin Impact developer Hoyoverse has officially announced its latest project, Nodus Fall, marking a major departure from the studio's previous visual styles. Revealed during Gamescom Opening Night Live 2026, the new title shifts away from the vibrant anime aesthetics seen in games like Honkai: Star Rail and Zenless Zone Zero, offering a grim-dark, realistic dark fantasy setting instead.

Powered by Epic Games' Unreal Engine 5 technology, Nodus Fall has been described by reports as looking akin to a hybrid of Dark Souls and Dragon's Dogma II. Gameplay centers around cooperative mechanics inspired by Monster Hunter. Players assume the role of a magical Weaver, teaming up with other Weavers to defeat a mysterious horde of ancient foes threatening the existence of the world.

At present, Nodus Fall has no official release date, though availability has been confirmed for the PlayStation 5 console. Additional details regarding gameplay systems, release windows, and platform expansion remain under wraps as the studio highlights its debut trailer.
