Grand Theft Auto VI Leaks Yield Over $50k and Hundreds of Thousands in Crypto Wallet

A user on the GTA Forums has detailed how the hacker Cyberleek has generated over $50,000 and holds hundreds of thousands in cryptocurrency through Grand Theft Auto VI leaks.

As millions of fans await the next installment in Rockstar's franchise, recent leaks surrounding Grand Theft Auto VI have sparked widespread attention. While Rockstar works to identify the individual behind the handle Cyberleek, analysis shared on the GTA Forums by a user named Vice Cit indicates that the leaks are part of an organized effort to generate revenue for the hacker.

According to the forum post, funds tied to the incident trace back to a KuCoin crypto wallet requiring ID verification. Through trades involving Solana and a custom Cyberleek coin, estimates suggest the hacker has accumulated approximately $50,000 so far. Additionally, the account holds an estimated value of around $391,000 in the cryptocurrency, which is tied to mechanisms where participants must invest in the Cyberleek coin to vote on subsequent leaks.

Cyberleek has publicly claimed to be fighting for gamers' rights and capitalizing on divisions regarding physical copies. However, analysts and observers point to the cryptocurrency trading at the heart of the activity as evidence of financial motivation. In response to the leaks, advocacy groups and organizations have issued various statements regarding support and boycotts, while Rockstar continues to take down leaked videos circulating online.
