Nintendo Releases Extensive Overview Trailer for Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave Ahead of Launch

Nintendo has shared an extensive overview trailer for Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave ahead of its launch later this week. The video features seven and a half minutes of gameplay footage and story details to prepare players for the upcoming title. The game is set in the crumbling Dagden Empire, which faces destruction from the revived demon god Balor.

Players can choose between confronting Balor directly or using Fortuna’s time-traveling powers to travel back years and recruit four distinct heroes. These companions include Kai, who wants to save his imprisoned father; Dietrich, who seeks a worthy opponent; Theodora, who is dedicated to defending her kingdom; and Lida, who seeks vengeance for her father's murder. The paths of these characters unfold through the Heroic Games tournament in the capital.

Turn-based combat utilizes six weapon types, including swords, bows, and magic. Each weapon features modifiable combat stats balanced against durability loss. Players can also deploy Blaze Arts, which are special attacks that provide effects like area damage or teleportation. Available classes include Diviners, Wing Soldiers, and Elephant Riders.

Outside of battles, players can explore the city and surrounding continent to train heroes. Activities include training at the Arena Plaza, attending certification exams, gaining blessings through Temple Volunteering, and recruiting new warriors. The overworld also offers additional combat encounters, treasure, and material collection. Unlike in Three Houses, players can switch between the four heroes at any point to progress all storylines simultaneously.

Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave releases on September 17 and will be available exclusively on the Nintendo Switch 2.
