Fate/Extra Record Worldwide Release Date Set for January 2027

An official worldwide release date has been announced for Fate/Extra Record during the State of Play Japan September 2026 presentation. The game is scheduled to launch globally on January 28, 2027, for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 platforms. This upcoming release follows multiple delays since the game's initial announcement in 2020. Originally targeted for a 2025 launch, various issues pushed the project back into 2027.

Alongside the release window confirmation, a new gameplay trailer was showcased, highlighting combat mechanics and featuring the three main Servants—Saber, Archer, and Caster—fighting alongside the player avatar. The footage also provided brief teasers for the game's overarching narrative. Fate/Extra Record is a remake of the original PlayStation Portable JRPG spin-off, which takes place outside of the main Fate/ series storyline. In the title, players create an avatar and compete in the Moon Cell Automaton's Holy Grail War alongside a chosen Servant to secure a wish.

Publishing responsibilities for the project have shifted, with Aniplex taking the reins on publishing. Meanwhile, Marvelous and XSEED are set to handle distribution and handling within the United States.
