Days Gone Developer Sony Bend Could Reveal New Project in the Next Year or Two

Following a turbulent few years that included lost leadership, a canceled Days Gone sequel, and the subsequent cancellation of a live service project in 2025 alongside Bluepoint's God of War game, Oregon-based developer Sony Bend is reportedly working on a new title. According to Bloomberg reporter Jason Schreier, it is possible that players could see the studio's upcoming project within the next year or two.

Discussing the studio's trajectory, Schreier noted that after facing multiple setbacks, Sony Bend eventually settled on working on a new intellectual property. While that initial effort was slated to be a live service game before being scrapped in 2025, the developer has since pivoted to something else and is actively surviving. Assuming that work on this current project began in earnest late last year, industry commentary suggests it could potentially reach a state ready for public display by 2027 or 2028.
