Control Resonant's New Game++ and Update 1.4.0 Add Endless Runs and Polish Across All Systems
Remedy has released Game Update 1.4.0 for Control Resonant, introducing New Game++ mode for infinite playthroughs alongside quality-of-life improvements, combat balancing, and performance optimization.
Control Resonant has received a substantial update that brings New Game++ mode to the action-adventure title alongside numerous refinements across all platforms.
New Game++ enables players to run through the game infinitely while carrying over their build from previous playthroughs. This addresses players who have completed New Game+ and want to continue progressing without limits.
Game Update 1.4.0 makes several quality-of-life changes. Build Power now appears directly on the Loadout screen instead of requiring navigation to the Stats menu. A HUD notification alerts players when new upgrades or purchases are available at The Gap vendor, and players can now check vendor inventory from the map without visiting in person.
Combat in the Unknown Zone has been rebalanced, with a 10 to 15 percent reduction in encounter frequency and intensity to allow more exploration breathing room. Players below enemy level will still face tougher combat, creating incentive to complete side content.
Audio options have expanded. A separate volume slider controls radio dialogue independently, and players can adjust audio balance between speakers, headphones, and the DualSense controller speaker. An Assist Mode option adds a 100 to 300 percent Power Core Charge duration multiplier.
Remedy has addressed numerous technical issues. Map markers no longer stick around incorrectly or fail to clear. A framerate drop during the Artist Resonant boss fight has been fixed. PC players receive performance optimizations targeting minimum and recommended specifications. The studio also added a "Mute copyrighted music" option to disable Apocalyptica's "Upperhand" intro track and included Razer haptics support that triggers effects during melee, damage, and other gameplay events.
Polish touches span lighting, animation, subtitle timing, dialogue timing, and mission structure. A new tutorial explains how the Rush ability removes status effects. HDR highlights in AgX tonemapper were corrected from over-saturation, and numerous subtitle and voice-over issues were resolved across the game.
Control Resonant is available on Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC. Remedy plans additional updates, with Photo Mode arriving in November.
