Control Resonant Gets Difficulty Balance Patch on PS5 Launch Day
Remedy has released a hotfix for Control Resonant on PS5, reducing enemy health and boosting player weapon damage in response to early feedback about challenging opening combat.

Control Resonant launched on PS5 today with a day-one hotfix addressing difficulty feedback from critics and early access players. Remedy responded to reports that the opening hours felt too punishing, with enemies described as overly resilient.
The hotfix, delivered without requiring a download, includes several balance adjustments. Remedy reduced the base health and required Falter stun level for most enemies, including the Dancer and Deserter bosses. The studio also increased maximum Aberrant Strength and maximum Ability Strength along a scaling curve, with larger damage boosts as players acquire more upgrades.
"We strongly believe these changes will improve the gameplay feel and flow while still providing a challenge," Remedy said in an official statement, acknowledging that enemies can feel "too tanky" during the game's early sections.
The Finnish developer noted that the difficulty spike was a concern raised across multiple reviews and early access accounts. Players familiar with the opening area reported dying frequently despite reviewer consensus that Control Resonant is "incredibly well" received overall.
