Control Resonant's Photo Mode Arrives in November, But PC Players Can Mod It Now
Remedy Entertainment is adding an official photo mode to Control Resonant in November, but PC players can already use a community mod. The latest game update also introduces infinite New Game++ runs and numerous quality-of-life improvements.

Control Resonant's visual design has impressed players since launch, from the atmospheric red hues of dangerous zones to the detailed environments of Manhattan. The game's art direction has made players eager to capture their own screenshots, but an official photo mode wasn't available at release.
Remedy Entertainment confirmed in a recent blog post that a photo mode is coming in November. "The Photo Mode for Control Resonant is something we've been cooking for a while," Remedy wrote. "We even consulted some talented virtual photographers from the community to help us make it the best it can be. The reason Photo Mode didn't release on launch is because we needed to prioritize making sure the game was in the best possible shape."
PC players don't have to wait. User Kkyleeb21 has released a comprehensive photo mode mod on Nexus Mods that matches the functionality of Alan Wake 2's official tool. The mod activates a free camera, freezes time, and includes preset switching, exposure and depth-of-field controls, image cropping, and six filters. Console players on Xbox Series X|S and PS5 will need to wait for the official November release.
Game Update 1.4.0 arrived alongside the photo mode announcement with substantial changes. The patch introduces infinite New Game++ runs, allowing players to cycle through the game repeatedly without limits. A new Build Power display on the Loadout screen shows player power levels at a glance, eliminating the need to check the Stats & Effects menu.
Quality-of-life features include a vendor icon on the map showing material availability for upgrades, reducing unnecessary trips to The Gap. The HUD now displays notifications when new items are available for purchase or upgrade. A separate volume slider for radio dialogue gives players more audio control, and the DualSense controller speaker can now be customized independently.
The Unknown Zone received combat adjustments, with overall enemy encounters and intensity reduced by 10-15%. Assist Mode gained a new Power Core Charge Duration multiplier ranging from 100-300%. The patch fixed framerate drops during the Artist Resonant fight, corrected map markers that were persisting incorrectly, and addressed multiple subtitle and voice-over timing issues. An option to mute Apocalyptica's "Upperhand" intro credits song was added, along with a new Rush ability tutorial. Razer haptics support was implemented to trigger effects during melee attacks, damage, and other gameplay events.
