Remedy Entertainment has confirmed post-launch updates for Control Resonant following the PS5 sequel's release. An infinite New Game+ mode will arrive in October, followed by Photo Mode in November.

The current New Game+ stops players after a second playthrough. The October update will remove that limitation, allowing unlimited campaign replays without erasing progress. Remedy stated the Photo Mode has been in development for a while, with the team consulting "talented virtual photographers from the community" to refine the feature. The mode was not included at launch because the studio prioritized getting "the best possible shape" for the core game.

Remedy noted in a blog post that players can expect additional cosmetic items for the character Dylan in future updates, with details to follow closer to release.

Control Resonant has not been offered an Expansion Pass, unlike the original Control and Alan Wake 2, both of which received two story DLC packs post-launch. There has been no announcement of planned story expansions for Control Resonant, suggesting it may release without traditional narrative DLC.

The studio recently deployed a PS5 patch that reduced difficulty by lowering enemy health and increasing weapon strength in response to player feedback. Insider Gaming awarded Control Resonant an 8/10 in its review.
