‘We heard your feedback’: Blood of Dawnwalker is getting a 60fps mode, after backlash
Following fan backlash over initial framerate limitations, developer Rebel Wolves has confirmed that The Blood of Dawnwalker will feature a 60fps Performance Mode on day one via a launch patch for Xbox Series X, PS5, and PS5 Pro.
Developer Rebel Wolves has reversed course following widespread negative attention regarding the upcoming action RPG The Blood of Dawnwalker. Initially, the studio revealed that the console versions would feature only a 30FPS Quality Mode and a 40FPS Balanced Mode at launch. However, following intense player backlash and feedback, the studio rushed to confirm that a third option—a Performance Mode targeting 60FPS—will be available on day one through a launch patch for PlayStation 5, PlayStation Pro, and Xbox Series X.
According to Rebel Wolves, the Performance Mode was already in development and undergoing testing before the initial performance announcement on Friday. The team explained that they had not been ready to promise the feature because testing was still underway. Responding directly to fan feedback over the weekend, the developers prioritized finishing their testing rounds. The successful results provided the confidence needed to confirm the 60FPS mode for launch day.
While players on PlayStation 5, PlayStation Pro, and Xbox Series X will have access to the new 60FPS option alongside the previously announced 30FPS and 40FPS configurations, owners of the Xbox Series S will see a different experience. The Xbox Series S version of The Blood of Dawnwalker will run exclusively at 30FPS with no alternative performance modes available. The action RPG is scheduled to launch on September 3, 2026, and is currently available for pre-order on digital storefronts priced at £59.99 / $69.99.
