Prison-Break Comedy Sandbox Bad Inmate Coming Soon To Quest & PlayStation VR2

HyperVR Games has announced that its physics-driven comedic prison-break sandbox game, Bad Inmate, will launch on Meta Quest and PlayStation VR2 on October 15.

HyperVR Games, the studio and publisher known for Shave & Stuff and Titans Clinic, has announced the upcoming release of its new VR title, Bad Inmate. The physics-driven comedic prison escape simulator is scheduled to launch on Meta Quest and PlayStation VR2 on October 15. The game tasks players with breaking out of prison by using ordinary and unusual objects as escape tools, stealing keys, outwitting guards, and crawling through passages.

According to the official store page features, the sandbox title includes a full ragdoll physics combat system that allows players to turn everyday objects into weapons. Players can interact with fellow inmates by befriending, betraying, or brawling with them, as well as craft new tools by combining objects. The experience also features yard activities such as basketball, pull-ups, and weightlifting built for immersive virtual reality interaction.

HyperVR Games has a history of developing popular sandbox simulators on VR platforms. Their previous titles include Titans Clinic, a dentist simulator holding a 4.8 out of 5-star rating on the Meta Store from over 16,000 user reviews, and Shave & Stuff, a barbershop simulator rated 4.8 out of 5 stars based on over 14,000 reviews.

While the Meta Quest and PlayStation VR2 versions arrive on October 15 and are currently available to wishlist, Bad Inmate is also planned for a SteamVR release. However, a specific release date for the SteamVR version has not yet been announced by the publisher.
