Fort Stewart Unit Offers 4-Day GTA 6 Pass for Re-enlistment
A Georgia Army unit is offering soldiers a four-day pass around the GTA 6 launch in exchange for re-enlistment contracts signed through November 14.
A U.S. Army unit at Fort Stewart, Georgia, is offering soldiers a four-day pass timed to the launch of Grand Theft Auto VI as an incentive to re-enlist, according to an Army spokesperson who spoke with CBS News.
The perk applies to members of the 9th Brigade Engineering Battalion who sign a re-enlistment contract between August 1 and November 14. In exchange, eligible soldiers receive a four-day pass coinciding with the game's release, though they must commit to a minimum two-year re-enlistment term. An Army spokesperson, Lt. Col. Angel Tomko, said the program aims to connect with soldiers' interests and generate excitement around re-enlistment.
So far, 20 soldiers have agreed to the incentive, with approximately 130 service members eligible. The Army memo specifying the program was published online this week. Grand Theft Auto VI is scheduled to launch on November 19 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S and is among the most anticipated entertainment releases of any kind.
