ZERO PARADES: For Dead Spies Getting Free Director’s Cut Update on October 1 and PS5 Release on November 3
Developer ZA/UM announced that ZERO PARADES: For Dead Spies is receiving a free Director’s Cut update on October 1 for PC, followed by a PlayStation 5 release on November 3, 2026.

Developer ZA/UM has announced that its narrative role-playing game, ZERO PARADES: For Dead Spies, is expanding with a major Director’s Cut release. The updated version is scheduled to arrive as a free update for existing PC owners on October 1, 2026. Additionally, the studio confirmed that a standalone PlayStation 5 version of the game will launch on November 3, 2026. At present, the developer has not made any announcements regarding potential releases for Xbox Series X/S or other platforms.
The upcoming Director’s Cut introduces substantial new material intended to feel tangibly different from the base game, which originally launched on PC in May 2026. The update adds approximately 40,000 words of fresh material to the role-playing game. A central addition is a new Dramatic Encounter known as the Quisach Roundabout. According to the studio, the scenario follows protagonist Hershel Wilk, also known as Cascade, and her old friend Ramses as they find themselves behind the wheel of a hijacked tuk-tuk, trapped at the roundabout late at night while attempting to find the right exit to head home.
Beyond narrative additions, the Director’s Cut brings a behind-the-scenes feature called Backstage. This addition allows players to explore versions of the game world from various points in development, alongside examples of the technical steps and creative processes involved in making the title. Backstage also incorporates a developer commentary system via interactive in-game orbs, featuring stories from team members such as art director Kaspar Tamsalu.
Technical enhancements are also part of the update. The PC version will receive support for ultrawide displays at 21:9 and 32:9 aspect ratios. Other quality-of-life additions include controller remapping, a Photosensitivity mode, and improved inventory sorting features.
Set in the city-state of Portofiro, ZERO PARADES: For Dead Spies tasks players with guiding operative Hershel Wilk through covert missions. Players interact with objects and residents using dialogue trees to gather information and equipment. Similar to Disco Elysium, the protagonist possesses a split psyche, which serves as a core mechanic for resolving conflicts without traditional combat.
