Xbox App Coming to Select TCL Smart TVs to Expand Cloud Gaming Access

Microsoft and Chinese TV manufacturer TCL are expanding cloud gaming accessibility by bringing the Xbox app to select TCL Smart TVs. According to Xbox Wire, the integration enables millions of users across more than 25 countries to enjoy Xbox titles directly on smart televisions they already own, providing alternative ways to play games without requiring an actual console or PC hardware setup.

Highlighting the collaboration, Microsoft stated its goal to be where the world plays by granting players greater choice and accessibility. Titles noted as playable through cloud options include Forza Horizon 6, Gears of War: E-Day, and Halo: Campaign Evolved.

However, this expansion arrives alongside recent adjustments to Microsoft's service framework. Microsoft announced that it will limit the amount of cloud gaming included within current Game Pass subscriptions. Consequently, players who utilize the cloud frequently may need to purchase additional hours, though industry observers note the possibility of a dedicated cloud-focused subscription plan being introduced in the future.
