Blizzard is exploring significant class expansion for World of Warcraft: Forever, according to an alleged survey that surfaced among select players. The survey, distributed via Battle.net, lists 11 potential new classes that could reshape how players experience the classic version of the MMO.

Three of the classes represent old-school versions of existing roles. Death Knight, Monk, and Demon Hunter would receive Forever counterparts, likely feeling substantially different from their modern WoW equivalents given their faster pace in the current game.

Eight classes are genuinely new to Forever. The Tinker stands out as a longtime community request, positioning players as engineers who pilot mech suits and gadgets to tank, deal damage, or support allies. The Necromancer, originally planned for vanilla WoW before being scrapped, appears in the survey as a class inspired partly by Diablo 2's Necromancer, featuring abilities like Bone Spear and Corpse Explosion.

The San'layn, vampires freed from the Lich King's control, lean into blood-based abilities reminiscent of retail WoW's Blood Death Knight specialization. The Warden draws from Night Elf lore, with the survey noting the faction would open ranks "out of necessity" to include non-Night Elves. The Runemaster, also listed as Metalborn or Runeknight in different survey versions, uses a rune system originally designed for an early Runemaster concept that was repurposed into Death Knight mechanics.

Three classes appear almost entirely new: Bard functions as a healer and support role with ally buffs, Illusionist summons creatures and objects for battle, and Witch uses dark powers including blood rituals and old god influence to support and damage.

The survey includes detailed information on each class, including lore, weapon types, armor class, resource systems, roles, and signature abilities. While Blizzard requests participants not share survey details, the information consistently appears online. Content creators like Bellular have provided full breakdowns of the leaked data.

WoW: Forever launched its beta on October 21 and is scheduled for full release on November 4. The version introduces over 1,000 new quests, four new zones, and an account-wide Legacy perk system alongside potential class additions.
