Blizzard surveys World of Warcraft: Forever players on new classes including Tinker and Bard
A leaked survey suggests Blizzard is gauging player interest in multiple new classes for World of Warcraft: Forever, including wholly original designs like the Tinker mech pilot and vampiric San'layn knights, alongside reimagined versions of modern

Blizzard appears to be testing player interest in new classes for World of Warcraft: Forever, according to a survey that recently circulated among select beta participants. While Blizzard requested that survey recipients keep the details confidential, screenshots and information have leaked online in recent days, prompting coverage from popular World of Warcraft content creators.
The survey presented players with several class options spanning both entirely new concepts and reimagined versions of classes from modern World of Warcraft. According to reports shared on the Classic WoW Reddit, the polled classes include Tinker, Bard, Illusionist, Metalborn, Runemaster, Runeknight, Death Knight, Demon Hunter, and Monk, alongside the San'layn.
Among the most intriguing proposals is the Tinker, a class with roots stretching back to the original Warcraft real-time strategy games. According to leaked survey details, the Tinker would pilot a mech suit capable of multiple roles: tanking damage, dealing high damage output, or providing support. The class would feature two distinct lives during combat: the mech itself and the pilot operating from within, similar to D.Va's mechanics in Overwatch.
The San'layn represent another original direction, described as vampiric knights clad in full plate armour who drain vitality from enemies and specialise in melee combat. These would offer a thematic departure from existing classes while maintaining familiar martial gameplay.
For existing class archetypes, Blizzard appears to be considering substantial reimaginings to fit World of Warcraft: Forever's classic setting and slower pace. Demon Hunters, if included, would function far differently from their Legion-era counterparts, featuring reduced mobility and belonging to a smaller, pre-existing faction rather than Illidan's legendary order. Similarly, Death Knights, Monks, and other modern classes would receive significant playstyle adjustments to align with the game's design philosophy.
Eurogamer notes it cannot independently verify the accuracy of the leaked survey information. The circulating details remain unconfirmed by Blizzard, making it unclear which, if any, of these classes will reach development or eventual implementation.
If accurate, adding new classes would represent a significant expansion avenue for World of Warcraft: Forever without revisiting expansion content such as The Burning Crusade or Wrath of the Lich King, keeping the experience grounded in the classic era while introducing fresh character options.
