The ninth iteration of WINLINE CIS LAN will take place October 20-23 in Moscow with 16 teams competing for a $50,000 prizepool. The event timing ahead of the PGL Major Singapore invite cut-off makes it valuable for VRS points.
MPKBK has announced WINLINE CIS LAN Season 9, a $50,000 Counter-Strike tournament set for October 20-23 in Moscow, Russia. The event is open to signups for any team in the global VRS and will feature 16 teams competing across GSL-style best-of-three groups, followed by a single elimination bracket in the playoffs. The grand final will be played as a best-of-five.
The tournament's timing is strategically important for teams chasing qualification spots at PGL Major Singapore. The event takes place just before the invite cut-off for the Major, giving teams a final opportunity to accumulate VRS ranking points. Nemiga's recent victory at WINLINE CIS LAN Season 8 on September 16 demonstrated the value on offer, as the team gained 117 VRS points and climbed 14 places to 24th in the global standings.
Prize distribution for Season 9 is as follows: first place $30,000, second place $9,000, third and fourth place $4,000 each, and fifth through eighth place $750 each.
