Wardogs Servers Go Down on Launch Day After Surpassing 300,000 Players
Wardogs launched in early access on Steam as a top global seller, but massive player numbers quickly overwhelmed the servers and forced developer Bulkhead to take them offline.

Wardogs launched in early access on Steam and immediately became a global top seller, peaking at over 300,000 players. Despite the high player count, server issues quickly disrupted the launch day experience for fans eager to try the 100-player milsim first-person shooter.
Players attempting to log in encountered errors, prompting developer Bulkhead to take the servers completely offline in order to work on a fix. The official Wardogs account posted on X to address the outage, stating they were actively working to get players into the game and apologizing for the disruption. The statement also noted that the issue was not present during the previous beta tests.
Bulkhead CEO Joe Brammer addressed the long login queues in a video, suggesting that the studio was facing rate limits from Valve. Brammer advised players not to leave the queue once the servers return. The server disruption came as a disappointment to players who expected a smooth release following numerous closed betas leading up to launch. Bulkhead had previously held a final closed beta over the weekend encouraging players to test the infrastructure.
