Wardogs Sells One Million Copies Immediately Upon Entering Steam Early Access

Bulkhead and Team17 announced that Wardogs has surpassed one million copies sold as the 100-player tactical first-person shooter launches into Steam early access. This milestone arrives after strong interest during the game development road to launch. The game previously reached more than one million Steam wishlists just a month prior.

Joe Brammer, CEO at Bulkhead, spoke about the milestone in a statement. He stated that crossing a million copies sold during the early access launch is incredible. He noted that the team spent months showing people what the game is and even gave players reasons not to buy it to avoid blind hype. He expressed gratitude that over one million people chose to play immediately. Brammer added that early access means there are still features to fix, improvements to make, and more content to build.

Player feedback shaped Wardogs throughout development. Nearly half a million players joined the August Closed Beta test. The final pre-launch test peaked at 245,118 concurrent players on Steam. To celebrate the community, Bulkhead is running a clip contest with cash prizes for the best overall play and in-game cash for the rest of the top one hundred participants.

Wardogs is a tactical all-out warfare first-person shooter where one hundred players split across three rival teams fight for control of a dynamic battlefield. The game combines tactical gunplay, combined-arms combat, construction, destruction, and large-scale team play. The title is available now in Steam Early Access. Bulkhead and Team17 also announced that the game will launch on PlayStation 5 and Xbox in 2028, with wishlists opening for those platforms.
