Wardogs, the mass multiplayer first-person shooter developed by Bulkhead, is currently surging up Steam charts. Released in a closed beta state in August 2026 before entering early access in September 2026, the game has quickly drawn a massive player base. While the Battlefield-like shooter enjoys high player counts, its community subreddit has become a hub for complaints about a very specific tactical oversight: players leaving base doors and gates open.

Forward Operating Bases act as central hubs for teams, allowing players to construct fortified defenses, respawn points, weapons, and mortar complexes. Because these structures feature entry points that do not shut automatically, players frequently leave them open when venturing out. Community members have pointed out that while enemies cannot pry locked doors open themselves, leaving an access point unsealed allows rival players to walk right in and wipe out builders and defenders.

Multiple Reddit users have voiced their grievances online. Redditor novastar17 reported that random allies let enemies into mortar complexes during construction, while user Icy-Sock-2388 noted that multi-layered airlocks are routinely left wide open. Suggestions from the community to fix the issue range from adding automatic closing doors to implementing monetary rewards for players who shut doors behind them. Other frustrated community members have even resorted to warning teammates that leaving doors open could result in friendly fire.

Aside from base defense frustrations, Wardogs also experienced severe server queues following its early access launch. Developer Bulkhead released a hotfix to address long server wait times, though players may still encounter the WD-L014 error code while attempting to connect.
