Wardogs Early Access Launch Date, Release Time, and All Changes Since Beta

Following months of anticipation, closed playtests, and a beta weekend that reached a peak of 245,000 concurrent players, the 100-player mil-sim shooter Wardogs is preparing to leave testing behind. Developer Bulkhead has confirmed that the title is officially launching into Steam Early Access on September 10, 2026. According to the game's SteamDB page, the exact release time is slated for 16:00 UTC, though players are advised to check the official Steam store page close to launch as countdown timers typically appear near release.

The upcoming launch version arrives following three major closed playtests and beta periods, which included runs from August 7–9, August 21–23, and a final stress test from September 3–6. While a full official changelog has not been published, several notable adjustments have been confirmed for the Early Access release. Progression in the game is being slowed down compared to the beta phases, where systems were intentionally lenient to allow testers to sample various features. Unlocking top-tier items will now require more effort; for example, the tank is now locked behind a high Driver level rather than the previous Wardog level 50 requirement, making the powerful vehicle much harder to unlock quickly.

Content-wise, the Early Access version of Wardogs is expected to launch with approximately 37 weapons, 21 vehicles, and 3 maps. Bulkhead has indicated that post-launch updates will primarily focus on bug fixes, balance passes, and community feedback rather than rapid, frequent content drops. Unlike previous playtests, this release is a full purchase that grants permanent access to the current build without the concern of character or progression data wipes.
