Wardogs Reaches 340K Peak Concurrent Players Following Rocky Early Access Launch

Bulkhead's military simulation title Wardogs hit 340,000 peak concurrent players on Steam and sold over 1.25 million copies despite severe server outages and login queues.

Bulkhead released its highly anticipated military simulation title, Wardogs, into early access on September 10, 2026. Despite being one of the most anticipated video games of the year, the launch was far from smooth. Players encountered significant issues involving login queues, server outages, and falsely implemented bans. The community flooded social media forums to express frustration and left negative reviews on Steam.

Even with these launch problems, Wardogs reached a peak concurrent player count of 340,000. This milestone secured the game the number two spot on the Steam charts, allowing it to surpass major titles like Dota 2 and PUBG. Shortly after the initial early access release, developer Bulkhead deployed a hotfix to address server instability and long queue times, letting players into the game in waves.

Bulkhead issued an apology to the community via social media for the delays and server disruptions. The developer also confirmed that Wardogs has sold over 1.25 million copies since its launch. Wardogs is currently available on PC through the Steam Store, with console versions planned for release in 2028.
