Developer Randwerk has officially launched Wanderburg into early access on Steam. The bullet-heaven roguelike puts players in control of a Frankensteinian hybrid of a castle and a tank. Starting with a single weapon like a cannon, players must defend themselves while growing their mobile fortress in size and strength as they level up.

Growth during a run is tied to several gameplay mechanics, including hoovering up flocks of sheep and cattle, pursuing fleeing villages, and taking down rival fortresses. As players advance, they can attach various new modules to their vehicle. These additions include building parts such as barracks that spawn troops, offensive weaponry like a giant hammer to smash surrounding enemies, and alternative movement components like swapping wheels for legs.

Because the title is launching into an early access state, the developers plan to introduce more content and make tweaks based on community feedback over the next six to 12 months.
