Virtue and a Sledgehammer launches October 27 on Steam
The action adventure game from Selkie Harbour and Deconstructeam arrives October 27, combining destructible environments with a narrative exploring self-improvement through violence.

Virtue and a Sledgehammer will launch on PC via Steam on October 27, developer Selkie Harbour and Deconstructeam announced at PC Gaming Show Tokyo Direct.
The action adventure game tasks players with returning to their hometown and destroying it piece by piece while fighting androids that have digitised former neighbours. The premise pairs environmental destruction with narrative exploration of the protagonist's past, including flashbacks to significant moments and encounters with therapy-like questioning that becomes increasingly surreal.
"A machine will never hate itself enough to become better," the latest trailer states, reflecting the game's thematic focus on self-improvement fuelled by hatred rather than love. The game features sledgehammer-based combat mechanics and destructible environments that recall titles like Red Faction: Guerrilla.
The game combines visceral destructible gameplay with emotionally nuanced storytelling, offering players both mechanical engagement through destruction and narrative depth exploring psychological themes. A demo is currently available on Steam ahead of the full release.
